记得 dog-fight 这个字好像是我补托福时学到的, 指的就是那种近距离的缠斗 (特别是指发生空战, 像电影 Top Gun 里头那样精采的缠斗画面就叫 dog-fight. 我喜欢把它跟中文的 "狗咬狗满嘴毛" 相提并论.

英文里还有几个成语跟 dog 有关, 就是 This is a dog-eat-dog world. (这是一个狗吃狗的世界) 我们中文里讲人吃人的世界, 英文里讲狗吃狗, 是不是有异曲同工之妙呢? 另外 Every dog has its day. 则是类似中文里 "行行出状元" 的意思 .
