Shot 的意思有很多, 比方说打针也可以是 shot, 或是照像也可以说是 shot. 还有就是投篮也叫 shot. 像我有一次看老美打篮球, 有人投了一个漂亮的三分空心, 其他人就说, Nice shot! 所以 shot 原指投篮的意思, 引申为著投投看,去尝试看看的意思. 所以如果你要鼓励别人去试一试, 你就可以说, "Come on, give it a shot!" 或是要别人尽全力去试, 就是 give your best shot. 记得在 South Park 这部电影中, 有一个老师就对那群满口脏话的小孩说, "Come on, give your best shot!"
