   The lucksmiths的三位成员分别是mark monnone负责弹bass和键琴,marty donald是吉他手还有担任主唱的tali white,乐队的歌曲多由mark和marty主力创作.他们于1993年以cassette带形式发表了11曲的同名合辑,从而开始了他们indie band的生涯,他们的歌曲风格多以清新派的guitar-pop见称,而歌词的部份是交代他们成长中种种的生活点滴,三人曾被问及他们受那些音乐艺人所影响,marty则说了The Wedding Present, Billy Bragg, Morrissey (and The Smiths), Elvis Costello, Butterglory, The Kinks, Belle & Sebastian, Lloyd Cole, The Housemartins, Pavement, Trevor Barker (RIP), assorted murder and mystery books等一大堆名字.到阿mark则简而清地列举了Jonathan Richman和The Modern Lovers.至於tali则说他第一张购买的唱片是REM的"Green"大碟,而他则喜爱The Steinbecks,Belle and Sebastian, Art of Fighting,Joni Mitchel,The Aislers Set, Elvis Costello & The Attractions等都是何其出色的乐手,还有的是tali更透露"魔戒"(the lord of the rings)是他心爱的电影之一。
