实际上‘Viva la Vida’有着许多不同的意思，能被翻译成各种不同的短语，根据语言及文化的背景，任何西班牙语使用者对‘Viva la Vida’的第一反应既是‘live life’或者‘live the life’。
然而将‘long live life’反翻译成西班牙语既是‘la vida vive’（同the life lives on）。但对于土生土长在墨西哥的方言使用者来说，‘long live life’的准确翻译则是‘Viva la Vida’，‘Viva la Vida’是作为赞美生活的用语，在墨西哥方言中‘Viva..’表示欢呼和庆祝。[/color][color=#ff0000]★[/color]

专辑封面启用世界名画，同时使用墨西哥的世界著名画家Frida Kahlo的作品《Viva la Vida》作为封面名称。这个名称的含义是有歌颂人生的意思。这种精神加上专辑封面，都与Coldplay自己的精神相得益彰，同时也展示了Coldplay 勇于展示发展新音乐元素的态度。
